MailFiler Tip #1 - Color Code Your Inbox

You can set the colors for the different MailFiler groups to give an even better visual representation of the the mails in your Inbox. You can choose the colors for each type of mail (e.g. Bulk , 'To Do' etc.)

To set the color for a group do the following steps :

  1. Select the Inbox. Then do 'View / Current View / Customize Current View' from the Outlook menu bar.
  2. Click on 'Automatic Formatting'
  3. Click on 'Add'
  4. Type in 'MF0' for the Name , click on 'Font' and select the color for group MF0 (Suspect Mails)
  5. Click on 'Condition' , then 'Advanced'.
  6. Type in 'Group' under 'Field' , select 'Contains' under 'Condition' and type in 'MF0' for 'Value'.

Repeat steps 3 to 6 for groups MF1 to MF7

The MailFiler groups are defined as :

  MF0 Suspect Mails (Probably Junk/Spam)
  MF1 Trusted Senders (Mails From People You Know)
  MF2 Mails That Have Been Identified (Threads , Groups , To Do ..)
  MF6 Bulk mail (subscriptions)
  MF7 Junk mail
